After the success of our first young people’s mental health survey, we have a follow up survey to be completed by as many young people in the Stanley area as we can manage. Run by Oxhill Youth Club, the Award has 3 levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold. You need to complete 4 sections for each Bronze and Silver Award and 5 for Gold. These are volunteering, physical, skill, expeditions plus for Gold a residential.
The Bronze Award is for year 9 – 24 ages. It will take approx. 6 months to complete. The Silver Award is for 15 - 24 ages and will take approx. 1 year to complete. The Gold Award is for 16 - 23 ages and will take approx. 18 months to complete. You have up to your 25th birthday to complete each Award.
All training for the expedition section must be completed by an approved Duke of Edinburgh's Award provider.
The Award is a recognised qualification and can provide great life skills, build self-esteem, provide opportunities for volunteering, help with employment and to access further education. It looks great on your CV!
Duke of Edinburgh's award session are held at Oxhill Youth Club, Thursdays 7.00 – 8.00 pm. Entry is free. Expedition equipment can be supplied by Oxhill Youth Club. Download our brochure below for more information.
